I like the location of the hostess at the mid-section of the store, rather than off in the far corner. I didn't care for the location of the cashier, which is at the back of the store. We found the host, who was originally from Hawaii, to be friendly. The wait staff isn't as friendly as we are use to, but then we were in Oregon, not Tennessee. I ordered the trout, with okra, and rice. The okra was lukewarm, but I have found that at many Cracker Barrel's. The trout was very good. My husband had the Cajun Catfish, salad, and fried apples. It was up to the usual Cracker Barrel standards. My daughter had the special Apple Cider BBQ Chicken Breasts. She loved her meal. The biscuits were also up to the usual Cracker Barrel standard. We ordered peach cobbler for dessert, and it was just okay. The crust was too gooey. I did get upset with the cashier when we were leaving as we got charged more than the advertised price for an item in the store. We explained they had to sell it for the advertised price, which was only a twenty cent difference, and the cashier decided to argue the point. Once I suggested she talk with her manager, she corrected the price she was charging us. We will be back and hopefully by then the restaurant will have worked out some of the kinks. I ordered the chicken fried chicken breakfast with an iced tea. Tasteless, thick and gloppy country gravy. No sausage or any meat incorporated for normal country gravy flavoring. Chicken fried chicken unseasoned, but good sized portion of chicken. You get 2 fairly good tasting biscuits but the second buiscit was not delivered and never came until a second request was made. Butter and jelly for the 2 biscuits was sparing. Not going back, ever! Having been to a number of Cracker Barrels before, we knew the routine. We were seated promptly. Breakfast menu had fewer options than what I remembered from otuer locations. Our server did check on us regularly. However, when we went to pay the bill, there were no cashiers and after waiting 10 minutes had to wander around to find someone. Also, it was much noisier than other more established locations. While the hostess was friendly enough, the service was poor. The waitress kept forgetting things like salad dressing, sides ordered, etc. The mashed potatoes had a very strange flavor. A noisy group was seated right beside us, although the restaurant was almost empty, so we decided to move. All the tables were dirty, and even the one that had been cleared was sticky and we had to ask to have it wiped off again. We waited 15 minutes to pay the bill, because the large party in front of us decided they wanted to pay as separate checks. The entire experience was disappointing. If I want a simple but yummy southern food, this is the place. Love the people, great food. Marcus was our server and he made sure our drinks were filled up all the times. We came around 8:30pm on a Friday night and the place wasn't busy at all. We all ordered fish. I had grilled catfish, hubby and son ordered fish fry. After that no one ever came back to see if needed refill or anything else,didn't even bring the bill,I had to go find manager to get bill and I told him my glass smelled funny when I drank out of it,he said OK will take it to the back and never even offered me a refill. The food was fine but service from manager and staff was terrible! Each morning, we chop up fresh greens and wholesome toppings, then toss them together with other delicious fixin's. Each of our salads include your choice of dressing, unless noted.
